Happy Birthday, Luke!

Luke Benjamin Hedenberg is now four years old. I've been sentimental all day; there is something about holding my newborn baby boy and thinking about how my other baby boy is getting so big..........

We've had a fun day of celebration. Luke woke up to decorations, blueberry pancakes, and presents. We spent the day playing with his new Legos, Lincoln Logs, and stuffed hippo. Ben came home from work a bit early so we could have a full night together. I made Luke the dinner of his choice- a corn dog and a blueberry smoothie- and we headed out to vote. Ben and I really enjoyed sharing the process with Gracie and Luke. It was Luke's first exposure, but Gracie has been learning a little about the election process and even got to "vote" at school today.

Ben recently heard about a huge indoor playground called BouncerTown about thirty minutes from us and we thought it would be a perfect way for Luke to have some fun on his birthday! I was so glad we decided to give it a try. Gracie and Luke were nothing but smiles for two hours of running, bouncing, and sliding. BouncerTown also had many Showbiz-style arcade games and skee ball and the kids had a great time with their tokens and prize tickets. Ben and I were amused that five dollars in tokens could produce a plastic top, some paper money, and a plastic one inch dinosaur. :)

We ended his birthday with a trip to Baskin Robbins since Luke had requested a chocolate ice cream cone for his birthday instead of a cake.
I'm off to watch election results with Ben. Go Obama!

Drew smiles so much!! Or you capture them well anyway. Chase smiles but only about once a day..maybe twice...I am jealous!
Next time we're in Indy, we have to go to Bouncertown! Glad that Luke had a fun bday and got to eat lots of blueberry flavored treats.
Oh and you're showing your age with the "Showbiz Pizza" reference LOL!

Happy birthday Luke! It didn't even phase me to read Showbiz...until I just read the last comment. That is pretty funny! I suddenly have the urge to go play some skee ball at Chuck E Cheese or probably more appropriately, Dave and Busters!
