We were out getting the oil changed in the van this morning and the song "Home" by Michael Buble was playing on my iPod. Gracie began singing along with surprising accuracy; I didn't realize that she knew the song so well. When it was over, she said, "I think that is a daddy singing about being away from the mommy and his kids. Even though he has other people around him, he doesn't have his family with him, so he wants to go home. Like when Daddy was in Tyler, Texas last year or when he moved to Indiana before we did."

Uuhh...yeah. That's the point of the song exactly. I was almost speechless...what great understanding of the lyrics! She's one smart little girl and I'm one proud Mommy.

Other than our oil change and a quick stop for a new ballet leotard for Gracie, the excitement of the day has been painting the birdhouse that Grandpa built for Luke. Gracie and Luke both had a ball painting it- all Luke's color choices, as you can probably tell. He can't wait to put it out in the backyard.

Beautiful, isn't it? :)
