RUDOLPH

Gracie made this picture of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer yesterday afternoon and it made me smile. She is really enjoying each and every holiday craft she can get her hands on; I have been scrambling to come up with as many ideas as I can!
The kids are thrilled that Zionsville is covered in snow. Gracie and Luke are just aching to head out into it, but I have not yet purchased snow boots and suits for the year. Luke came in our room bright and early on Wednesday morning (the snow came throughout the night on Tuesday) and announced that it was Christmas- the poor kid thought snow meant Santa! Luckily, he wasn't too disappointed.
Gracie and Luke have been waking up really early this week, so although it is eight, it feels like we have been up for ages! They are currently playing with Luke's Little People animals, a Santa Clause figurine, balloons being used as watermelon, the Christmas tree, a throw pillow, and one of Ben's tennis shoes as the car. It is quite a little scene they have created in the living room! The little voices they are using as they play just make me laugh, especially the voice of Santa.
I am hoping to have a nice quiet day here today- lots of playing, reading books, and possibly a Christmas movie. If I can get the kids to take a rest this afternoon, we might head out this evening for a bit of Christmas shopping.
