Friendship Dance 2019
Known as Homecoming in most high schools, Gracie and Luke both attended "The Friendship Dance" this year. Friendship is held as a combined dance with our rivals for the Turkey Day football game, Kirkwood High. This has been going on for decades and is fun for everyone. The result is a massive dance with hundreds of kids.
This year Gracie went with her group of junior friends and Luke went with a smaller group of freshmen friends. The difference in the way they approached the dance was kind of funny. Gracie had her dress picked out months earlier (choosing to rewear her beloved yellow dress from her sweet sixteen) while Luke didn't even know if he wanted to go to the dance until a few days before. We actually ran to Target the morning of to buy a pair of pants that would work for him. Gracie had huge plans around the dance with early afternoon plans for the girls to get ready together, then pictures at a park, then dinner reservations, then the dance, then a slumber party after. Luke's best friend's mom offered to have his group for pizza before the dance and the only group picture I got of him is the one she texted me. ;)

| Gracie's friends are so darn sweet to Kate. Always. Kate has no idea how lucky she is to have a big sister like Gracie. |
I was thrilled to be texted this picture from the kids. They found each other to say hi at the crowded dance and thought to take/send a picture.
