first lost tooth!!

Kate has been anxiously awaiting her entire kindergarten school year to lose a tooth. Her teacher keeps a chart in the room and documents each time a child loses a tooth. Kate has been wiggling her teeth for six months now, just hoping for one to give a little.

Last week it was her turn and she was one excited little girl. Her tooth finally came out as she was eating a taco for dinner. The look on her face was first utter confusion and then sheer delight. I offered that we could make a tooth pillow together after dinner, but she decided she would rather just place it on her nightstand with a note that read "Please take my tooth." She didn't want there to be any confusion that the tooth fairy was supposed to locate the tooth, take it with her, and leave Kate a surprise. She was really hoping for a dollar, so imagine her surprise when the tooth fairy left her a crisp five dollar bill!
