{eight}

This is eight for Andrew Henry Hedenberg-

  • Funny. So funny. Even when I don't want to find him funny, I find him funny.
  • reading many different series of fantasy type books. He just finished the final book in the Harry Potter series.
  • really enjoys drawing and requested some charcoal pencils and drawing books for his birthday
  • is a neat and tidy person. He makes his bed often without being asked (I'm not a big bed maker myself and don't require it of the kids.) He likes to organize his clothes and bookcase just so.
  • is quick to say thank you
  • loves Pokemon
  • is very social and seems to have/make friends every where we go
  • has some intense fears (severe weather, bugs, and robbers being the top three at the moment). We have to be careful what he is exposed to because his imagination gets the worst of him sometimes.
  • is preoccupied with things being fair
  • loves a good game of Monopoly and can legitimately beat me at it (Our games can last up to six hours spread out over days. He's really patient and ruthless!)
  • does not watch much TV or seem to like movies but is obsessed with video games
  • has a good and infectious giggle
  • loses his temper if his feelings are hurt (especially if it is Luke who has hurt his feelings. He looks up to Luke so much that if Luke gets mad at him, it really, really bothers him.)
  • in general, is becoming more patient and losing his temper less and less frequently
  • likes to help out if it makes him feel needed/big, but hates to just be given chores to complete along with everyone else.
  • says things that are just so unexpected and adorable sometimes that we have to just bite our cheeks to keep from laughing
  • is the most adventurous kid eater in the family
  • enjoys chess club very much
  • plays soccer and basketball on teams
  • wakes up a little before six each morning, but is required to stay in his bed continuing to rest until 6:30. At 6:30 on the dot, I can hear him on the stairs.
  • loves his dog beyond words
He is a great kid, my Drew. He's growing up. He didn't used to be what anyone could call an "easy" child. It's taken a lot of work and some maturing, but he has become pretty darn easy. He tries hard to please us, is doing great at school, and is becoming more kind the older he gets. I am pretty sure I could bottle "eight" and keep it.
