{our birthday boy}

The focus of our weekend is celebrating Luke and his upcoming ninth birthday. Today was spent doing things that Luke wanted to do. We started the day by surprising Luke with his gift from us a couple of days early- we finally got him the Nintendo DS he has been wanting for almost a year. Talk about one excited boy! Per Luke's request, lunch was spent at the Cheesecake Factory and then Luke was very happy to have the afternoon to play with his new DS. His main outing request of the day was to go bowling, so we all headed to Tropicana once Katie woke from her nap. The day ended with meatloaf for dinner (one of his faves) and a movie on the couch.

We are looking forward to more birthday fun tomorrow. Patti and Paul are coming to St. Louis for the day and Luke has requested time at the City Museum and a trip somewhere to get a chocolate malt.
