{confidence}

Drew has more self-confidence in his little pinky than most people have in their entire bodies. (And yes, I know it could probably more accurately be called arrogance, but since he is only four, I choose to cut him a little slack and label it as self-confidence.)

This morning as he was working out of a preschool skills book, we had a conversation that left me shaking my head in amusement.

Drew: Mom, what does this one say to do?

Me: Color eight stars blue and color zero stars red.

Drew: Are they trying to trick me? You can't color zero stars. Zero is nothing.

Me: You are right. I don't think they are trying to trick you. I think they are trying to make sure that you know what zero means.

Drew: Seriously, Mom!  Who is the kid that just beat preschool and is going to pre kindergarten next year?!? Like I don't know what zero means!

My Drew doesn't finish preschool like most kids, he beats it.  .....And, according to him,  they gave him baseball jersey #1 because he is the best one on the team. .... And he actually said to me a couple of weeks ago, "I bet you've never seen a kid as good at things as I am, right?"

No shortage of self confidence in my four year old, that is for sure! He sure does keep me smiling, though; you never know what is going to come out of that mouth!

That confidence will serve him well. I hope he keeps it forever!
