{a moving video}

I have a bit of insomnia this evening. I've been trying to get sleepy for hours now with no success. The only plus side of this has been lots of time to browse around on the Internet. While searching, I came across a beautiful short documentary about a terminally ill seventeen year old. This twenty two minute video was so moving to me that I started crying minutes into it and pretty much didn't stop until well after it had ended.

I know this probably doesn't sound like something a person would choose to watch, and I hesitated to share it, but I decided that since I am glad that I watched it,  it was worth sharing.  I love the reminder to appreciate each day that you have while you have it and especially love when he talks about the joy to be found in making others happy.

If you care to watch it, the link is here.

made me cry too although at the same time I am amazed at the strength of some people and the positive attitude they can have in face of such tragedy. I hope I never have to find out how I would approach something like this but it does serve as a reminder to appreciate everything you have and to try to be happy!

What a moving video Leslie. Thank you for sharing. His whole point on quality of care vs. quality of life hit home since Patrick and I just had that conversation and told the Dr.'s in D.C. last week that we couldn't keep making that 2 day trip every 5, 6, 8 weeks. We've spent four and a half years living on "what ifs" every few weeks and it was affecting our demeanor and causing great anxiety for the kids. We told them we'd move to every 16 weeks and get MRI's here in between. Starting to feel the relief all around already. Life doesn't feel like it's on constant hold and the kids are SO happy. Again, thank you so much for sharing :)
