{pity party}
Ben called at lunchtime. He reports it is sunny and in the 80's in Miami. He went out to a long, late dinner last night and a huge breakfast this morning. He was just boarding the cruise ship. Sun. Drinks. Relaxation. Adult time.
I, on the other hand, have spent the day organizing toys in the playroom, giving the guest room a good cleaning, and attempting to referee three children dead set on spending our Saturday arguing with one another.
I might be feeling just a bit sorry for myself.
On a happier note, the craft room has seen more action in the past two weeks than it had in the three or four months prior. I have been sewing, scrapbooking, and crafting for at least an hour each day and I feel so good about it. I moved Drew's car rug and all of his trains to the edge of the craft room, so he is pretty content while I am in here.
I had about one hundred pictures printed off last month and have slowly been working my way through the stack. So far, I have created about 20 scrapbook pages since Christmas. I have been focusing mostly on Drew's scrapbook ever since I realized the last page I had made for it was about his first birthday. His is now a little more caught up to Gracie and Luke's scrapbooks. In addition to the scrapbooking, some fun Valentine crafts, and general art-ing with the kids, I have also altered a couple of ill-fitting maternity clothes and created new curtains for the dining room after splurging on some fabric I've been lusting after for about two years.
So while Ben sails off toward Jamaica this week, I plan on distracting myself with three goals-
1. Continue to work my way through the stack of pictures I had printed.
2. Find a guacamole recipe I am happy with.
3. Watch lots of chick flicks in the evenings after the kids are asleep. (I started this last night with a Hallmark Valentine's Day movie.....it was so sappy and predictable.....I loved it.)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
