St. Patrick's Day
A friend jokingly said to me yesterday that St. Patrick's Day is a pretty fun holiday at two times in your life- first if you are in your twenties, drinking green beer and using the holiday as another excuse to have a good time with your friends. Second, if you are preschool- aged. Obviously it was the second category that applied to the Hedenberg household yesterday. :)

Gracie came into our bedroom first thing in the morning and said, "I woke up and and said to myself, 'I can't sleep in today. It's St. Patrick's Day!'" She then went into her room and picked out her outfit for the day- green from head to toe, including barrette and flip flops. She picked out an all-green ensemble for Luke as well, but his outfit included pajama pants.
We had a yummy breakfast of green pancakes and green cocoa and then enjoyed some green art projects. I was even able to find a St. Patrick's Day board game online at an educators' website. Gracie kept joking that she wanted to call Gram and say, "Gram, are you wearing green? I will pinch you over the phone if you are not!" (This was a really funny joke to her for some reason.) When it was time to call Gram, though, she got really shy about her joke. :) The day ended with a green bath.
