fifth grade graduation in a pandemic

Drew is done with elementary school. He graduated today over Zoom and then participated in a drive by parade to be cheered on by his teachers. To celebrate, he went to a socially distant donut party at a friend's house where the boys stayed six feet apart and stood along the driveway to visit. All in all, a weird way to say goodbye to your elementary school years, but I am thankful to Bristol staff for working as hard as they could to make the day as memorable as it could be given the circumstances.

A yard sign, Bristol shirt, balloon, and diploma were dropped off the night before.

The donut party was put together as a quick social for the boys, but I think the parents enjoyed it just as much. When I got home, one mom texted me "I had no idea how much I was missing these boys and their moms!" We are all craving human interaction these days. I hope I don't take hugs for granted anymore.

And one last picture in front of Bristol-

And his sweet baby and current picture shared for the ceremony video.
