social butterflies vs. homebodies
Tonight two of the six of us were pumped to go to ChiliFest and the Turkey Day pep rally at our high school. The loves-a-crowd foodies of our bunch were pretty excited to attend this four hour shin dig.
Drew, Luke, Kate, and I were in the opposite mood. It was a dreary day in St. Louis and an afternoon/ night at home before our Thanksgiving trip this weekend sounded too good to pass up. Luke and Drew asked around four if they could just put their pajamas on for the night and build a big fort in the living room. I may or may not have also put on my pajamas at a ridiculously early time in the day.
So while Ben and Gracie were the friendlier Hedenbergs in the family today, I feel not one bit bad. I had a great evening hanging with the kids, packing for the weekend, and putting up our Christmas decorations. It may be a bit early for Christmas decorations, but first-Christmas-in-our-new-house excitement is getting the better of me this year.
