1. We are under contract on the house. We should be excited, but we're still recovering from being burned the first time around. We still have home inspection negotiations to get through and then another month of waiting before I believe it is really going to happen. I will be holding my breath until March 24.
2. Snow! I love snow.
3. Valentine's day is a non-priority around here this year. The kids have ZERO interest in cards. Luke's party is tomorrow and he has no cards to hand out. When I bring it up to him, he tells me it is optional and he really doesn't care if he hands them out or not. Drew picked out the first box of cards he saw at Walgreens and scribbled his name on them. Katie picked out Frozen cards and is the most excited of all, but even she is pretty nonchalant about the ritual. It feels okay to not spend a lot of effort on Vday this year.
4. We are all very excitedly awaiting the news of the arrival of baby Good sometime in the next week or so.
5. We enjoyed chocolate fondue during the Superbowl. Kate- who is not usually as much of a sweet tooth as some other members of the family- practically licked the pot clean. She could not get enough. It was messy and adorable.
6. The home inspection on our house was yesterday. There is something very unpleasant about having a home inspection done. You know that the buyers and the inspector are going to look at every nook and cranny of your home, just searching for every little (and big) thing wrong with the home. It makes me feel very defensive. The inspection was scheduled to run from 2:30 to 5:30. It was COLD outside (too cold to leave Bear in the car while we went inside somewhere), so we ended up killing time for three hours in Hank. It was a long three hours. We ate a hot and ready pizza for dinner in the back of Hank. We were all a wee bit grouchy by the end of our time.
7. Drew got a shiner two minutes into basketball practice last night. It was purple and swollen almost immediately, and he was in a lot of pain. It was a pretty not fun way to end a pretty not fun afternoon. It sucks to watch your child in pain.
