{preschool Open House}
This morning Drew, Katie, and I got to spend the morning at Drew's new preschool. He was so excited and the first words out of his mouth this morning were shouts of "I GET TO START PRESCHOOL TODAY!! WOO HOO!!!!" I took these pictures right before we left and it was hard to get him to hold still long enough for a shot. I loved his enthusiasm!
One thing we love about this preschool is that it is literally at the end of our block. Walking there will be faster than driving and trying to find a parking spot. I have always wanted to be close enough for the kids to walk to school, so this makes me ridiculously happy.
We walked to school and his enthusiasm mellowed a bit as he was greeted by both directors at the main door and both of his teachers once we reached his classroom. He got more than a little shy and refused to let go of my hand or venture off to explore the classroom for the first half and hour or so that we were there. His teachers were great about it and let him ease into things.
Katie, on the other hand, loved the room from the first second we were there. She went off exploring and really didn't seem to care where in the room I was. At one point she took a book over to one of the other moms and tried to climb onto her lap to be read to. She especially liked the teacher's rocking chair and repeatedly climbed into it with a book from the classroom library. Funny girl.
As we stayed, though, Drew began to see how much fun he could be having. Almost abruptly, he let go of my hand and went off to play, first alone in the house area-
and then off to the car rug where he made a friend named Andrew-
By the time we left, he had high fives for his teachers and said he was excited to go back on Tuesday.
We celebrated with a lunch date at St. Louis Bread Company.
I love this kid.

Drew has always taken a little more time to warm up to things - I am exacly the same way - his mama is, too, I think. I'm sure it will be a wonderful school for him.
You're going to have to start Katie in school when she's 2!She is a ball of fire!
Give them kisses me for and we will see you soon.
