reality.
I am in a bad mood today.
Every little thing has me feeling frustrated. A spilled bowl of cereal all over the dining room floor. A crabby baby girl dealing with a cold. A horrible night of sleep from being awake with the crabby baby girl dealing with the cold. The mess around the house that seems to multiply every time I turn around. A load of towels coming out of the dryer with that sour smell that makes me gag. A rainy, cold, gray day that does not help my mood. An empty fridge that requires me to go out in the rainy, cold, gray day with the crabby baby to go to the store to get things for dinner. An obligation tonight at church that I just don't feel like getting everyone ready to go to. The realization that the obligation at church that I don't feel like going to will take up our entire evening. A three year old who does not want to be more than a foot away from me today. A three year old who is, in fact, sitting on my foot driving cars up my leg as I type this. The annoying song "Little Bunny Foo Foo" that I really (really, really, really) regret teaching said three year old.
We all have these days, I know. I just hate them. I don't like being crabby and I really don't like when I am crabby to others. You know that saying "If mama ain't happy.." Unfortunately, it is true. Drew is stuck with me today whether he wants to be or not. It is so not fair of me to grouch at him for being three.
So I allowed myself a Dr. Pepper and laptop break for ten minutes and then am forcing myself to shake my crabbies. A short blog post, a stop in to facebook, and a little catching up on blogs...then I will turn back to my blond-haired sidekick and cheerfully do his ABC puzzle with him for the ninth time this morning. And when Katie wakes up, I will ignore my aching back and cheerfully continue to let her spend her day in my arms, since that is the only place she is happy today.
How's your day going? ;)
