{soon-to-be third grader}

Just typing that title was hard. It is absolutely crazy to me that my baby girl is soon entering third grade- the grade that I taught for so many years. One of my favorite former students emailed me last month and in our back-and-forth, I mentioned that Gracie was getting ready to enter third grade. The student responded, "NO WAY! How is that even possible? I still think of her as the toddler you brought in to meet us! I feel really, really, really old now!"  Ditto, my friend, ditto.

Ben and I took Gracie on a date this evening to tour the intermediate school she'll attend next year. I don't know what part she liked most- seeing the school, having us all to herself, or seeing all of her friends outside of the regular school day. (She is so her daddy's daughter- she knows and talks to everyone!)

She's such a happy girl and I loved spending a special evening with her.
