tea party

It's been a long day and I'm a bit too tired out to go into great detail, but Gracie had a wonderful sixth birthday party this afternoon. Tucking her into bed tonight, I asked her what her favorite part of the party was. She said, " having my best friends here......and decorating bonnets.....and eating treats......and playing the telephone game.......and opening presents......and making jewelry......and helping set up for the party....and my pretty dress........."

It's eight o'clock on a Saturday night and I have the whole quiet house to myself. Ben had a work cookout to attend, and all three kids are fast asleep. Do I go read in bed for a few hours, curl up on the couch with birthday cake and a movie, or clean up the mess from the party? I can tell you which one it won't be!
