california

We are having an amazing trip so far. After a couple of really, really busy days, we are lounging in our unbelievably nice hotel room for the morning. After a solid nine hours of sleep, I'm sitting on a fluffy bed with my laptop and coffee looking out the patio windows to the rolling hills of the California wine country....aaahhhhh. This is vacation. :)

A quick recap of our trip so far-

Saturday- San Francisco: Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square

Sunday- San Francisco: trolley car ride, Coit Tower, bike ride across Golden Gate Bridge, lunch in Sausolito, Haight/Ashbury, the Seven Sisters, Muir Woods

Monday- Napa/Sonoma: couples mud bath in Calistoga, Sterling Winery, Rubicon Estates, shopping, exploring dowtown Napa, dinner in Sonoma

Today we are off to Santa Cruz to enjoy a day on the beach- I can't wait!

Gracie and Luke: I love you very much, babies! I miss you!

They miss you, too - and are fast asleep. We went to Monkey Joe's for lots of bouncing and sliding - Trader Joe's (for wine for Barb!)and Macaroni Grill for dinner!! It was early and not busy - the kids were great and ate really well. Barb took the bigger kids to the pool and Drew and I walked over after he had his dinner. Grace and Luke swam for an hour or so with Joe and Will and Barb - then home for a bath and stories. It was a fun day. Barb and I are opening some of that wine....

The row of painted ladies brought me back to our adventures walking the neighborhoods of San Francisco. We are getting ready to repaint our house. I wish I would have had you on the lookout for some good painted lady color combinations....
