the love of Little People

Grace and Luke came to me with the idea that they wanted to show Drew some of the toys that are just waiting for him once he gets a bit bigger. I agreed that it would be a nice way to spend a miserably cold, snowy morning, so we put him down on the floor in his nursery and Grace and Luke dug some of the old toys from Luke's closet. Among them- all of our Little People toys.

Luke used to spend hours each day playing with Little People animals and people. About a year ago he lost interest and I assumed that he had outgrown them. It was really cute to see his excitement over rediscovering his old favorite toys.

They spent most of the morning playing with the Little People. It just made me happy to see. Not that there is anything wrong with Superheroes, Word World, Legos, or any of his other new interests, but there is something so inncocent about the way he plays with the Little People. I love to hear the little voices that he uses and listen to the different scenarios he creates as he plays.

We have lots of snow here and it is unbelievably cold! Gracie and I went to the grocery store this evening and it was painful just to walk from the store to the van and load the groceries. As we were driving home, we saw quite a few construction men working on the side of the road. I remarked that I felt sorry for them. Gracie's response? "Yeah, they probably just want to go home and have some hot cocoa." That girl and her cocoa! :)
