Kentucky

We're home from one of the sweetest weeks of family time I could have imagined. The time in rural Kentucky with my parents and siblings was a Christmas gift from my mom and dad. We weren't sure for a bit if we should still go because of Corona, but goodness, I am so glad we did.

We spent the week playing in the lake and relaxing in the house. We talked for hours on the deck overlooking the water. Drew and I took the kayaks for a long ride to count turtles. Ben and I had a wave runner date. The days started with early morning fishing and ended hours past watching the sunset from the dock. We laughed our way through a 15-player Chase The Ace game. We introduced the kids to Lights Out In Moscow and it was highly, highly entertaining. We celebrated my mom's birthday. We got to know the very lovely Izzy. Adorable Paige told us all that she loved us about 2,000 times. Emmy and Kate spent every moment together, sometimes even while sleeping.

I am so thankful to my parents for planning and treating us to this time away with our people. It's kind of neat as an adult to realize that in addition to loving the family you were born into, you really like them too.
