all the things, a catch up of sorts
In no particular order at all, peeks at us at the very end of 2018:
1. Ben completed his MBA program last week. Woohoo!
2. We all- Luke included- had the realization last week after watching Luke in the middle school play that drama is might be something that is a part of Luke's high school life. He was good. He enjoyed himself. He had one scene in particular in the play that got big laughs.
3. Kate is very into the magic of Christmas this year. I should not be the least bit surprised by this as this is the same girl who was obsessed with fairies all summer. She has my heart.
4. The kitchen project is well underway. There is currently a big mess of drywall dust all over the main level of the house. Dealing with this kind of ongoing mess, especially since I can't clean it up because they are not done yet, is not something I'm particularly good at. Even if I'm annoyed by it, I am still so excited about this project that it is only mild annoyance. If we remain on schedule, we will be fully using our new kitchen by mid-March. I'm not sure I've ever been more excited about a house project.
5. I'm pretty darn excited about Christmas. Our Hedenberg 6 family Christmas will kick everything off on the 23rd and then we get two weeks off from school. I consider this extra time together to be my biggest Christmas gift.
6. Gracie has finals this week. Really not fun. She is looking forward to break more than anyone else in the family. Luke has his first ever final tomorrow as well in eighth grade Geometry. He shared tonight that he is pretty worried about it. I guess finals teach some sort of important life skill? I guess? It seems to this sympathetic momma that a final project or paper could wrap up the semester in just as effective a way without all of the stress on these teens.
