oh, summer.
This post may really just be a love letter to summer break.
I am soaking in every wonderful second of it, my favorite stretch of time of the entire year. We are, as a family, living our best life in the summer time. I love the time together. I love the adventurous nature that summer takes for us. I love the time to get together with friends. I love the chance to work on projects around the house. I love the later bedtimes. I love the pace.
I love that it's the second week of summer break and since school ended, we've already camped with friends, traveled to New York (girls), taken a boys' trip to the lake, attended a soccer camp (Drew), started summer cheer practice (Grace), attended a Cardinals game (Luke and Leslie), hosted a party in the backyard (Grace for her cheer squad), joined a new library and signed up for the summer reading program, taken a fun trip to the mall, had an anniversary date night (B & L), built a tent together in the living room, completed a huge puzzle (mostly Luke), and logged dozens of hours of play in the backyard.
All of this activity, yet life still feels relaxed. There's been so much time to read, work in the yard, play, and chill.
I love summer.
