Turkey Day

Gracie has spent HOURS in preparation for the Turkey Day pep rally which is pretty much the biggest event her squad does. Turkey Day is a long standing tradition in our town. Not being from here, I don't really understand just how or why it is such a big deal, but I am learning that it is. A football game is held on Thanksgiving Day between our school and the high school in the next town over, Kirkwood. EVERYONE goes to the game. EVERYONE goes to the pep rally and Chilifest the night before. The cheerleaders have been working for weeks to prepare. There is a light show, a dance routine, a stomp routine, and lots of stunts. Eleven hours a week for the past six weeks have been spent preparing for this.

Last night family members were invited to attend the dress rehearsal. I was so impressed!
