birthdays
The beginning of July means lots of birthday celebrations in our family. Addi is on the 6th, I am on the 8th, and Grace is on the 10th. We really enjoyed celebrating this year and it felt like the birthdays stretched on for days and days.
While we were in Evansville, Gram and Grandpa put together a small birthday celebration for the birthday girls. Back at home, Grace had a party with 14 of her closest friends. On her actual birthday, we were lucky enough to get some extended family time in Decatur. We had Krekels for dinner and then went with everyone to the ropes course and batting cages. We were able to see Addi on her birthday by showing up to surprise her with donuts, which was a pretty fun surprise for all because she did not even know we were in Decatur.
My birthday, my 40th, was very well celebrated as well. I declined Ben's offer of a party, but instead had a few different evenings with some of my favorite people. A wonderful meal on the patio at Russell's with Halli, Eric, Dave, and Nicole. A night of Schlafly's for dinner followed by skee ball with Mark and Kelly. A special evening with female relatives in Decatur. An afternoon shopping with my girls followed by a delicious meal and ice cream cake with the family. There were cards and gifts and texts and video messages.... it was a great birthday for sure.
