{Go Angels!}
Luke's team won their first game of the end of the season tournament tonight. Better yet, Luke got a game ball from the coach for great work in the outfield.
I am pretty happy with the progress that Luke has made this season. It was a bit of a blow to his confidence to enter the team as the new kid and the only player brand new to baseball. (Eight of the eleven players on the team played together for three seasons prior to this one.) The season had a rough start and there were many mistakes made and some tears shed, but I think he has gotten to the point where he enjoys the game and has some of his confidence back. This was a good life lesson for Luke; this is the first time that he has really struggled to do something that didn't come naturally. He still has quite a ways to go, but I am proud of him...and, better yet, I think he is proud of himself.
The tournament continues on Friday evening. Go Angels!
